Dupe this Look: Kim Kardashian

This photo has to be one of my favorites of Kim Kardashian. As a makeup icon (maybe because she wears so much of it), Kim Kardashian's signature smokey eye is often duplicated, but what I love about this look is the shocking pink lips! I thought I'd try to pair the typical Kardashian smokey eye and match it with this fuschia lip color. Kim loves her dark sultry eyeshadows and lashes for days, but she hardly ever pairs them with this bright a lip anymore. To create her smokey eye, I stuck to my go-to black eyeshadow, MAC's Blacktied, and blended Smut in the crease and Knight in the inner corner. Blacken the lashline with MAC eyeliner in Feline and add your thickest, sexiest lashes. I kept it simple with the blush, using MAC's Prim and Proper blush, which is the perfect warm nude. The look is complete with the same lipstick used in the photo, NARS Schiap. For extra oomph, I glossed over the lipstick with a coat of Chanel Glossimer in Pink Pulsion.

Nail of the Day: OPI's Black Shatter

Released with Serena Williams and Katy Perry's OPI nai lpolish line, Black Shatter cracks upon drying giving your nails a bit of a punk-rock edge. To achieve this shattered look, application is easy. Just apply a coat of Black Shatter on top of the color of your choice (I chose a simple nude color) and wait until it dries. For just $8 a bottle, I am loving this look! If you are lucky enough to come across this nail polish, grab it!

Weekend Haul: Sonia Kashuk and Maybelline

I stopped by my local Target to grab some goodies this weekend! Sonia Kashuk has to be one of my favorite drug store brands so picked up their version of the beauty blender sponge (retailing at $9.99) and a single eyeshadow in Chocolate, which was on sale for $2.98! I also got my hands on the much raved about Maybelline foundation line Fit Me! I cannot wait to try these out! Reviews to follow. What did you pick up this weekend?

Buzzworthy: MAC's Viva Glam Gaga 2

Just as they take the original Viva Glam Gaga off the shelves, a new one arrives just in time to satisfy those Gaga fans out there! The new Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick and lipglass were released in MAC stores on Thursday February 17, retailing at $14.50 and like the rest of the Viva Glam line, all proceeds going to the MAC AIDS Fund. The shade is a true nude, though it goes on slightly pinker than the product looks in the tube. It's a close match to both MAC's Myth (VG Gaga 2 is darker) and MAC's Peachstock (VG Gaga 2 is lighter). This is a hard shade to pull off. The amplified formula really allows every crack and wrinkle in your lip to show through and the shade may just be on the border of that dreaded "concealer lip" look. Although the original Viva Glam Gaga was quite cool and difficult to pull off on most as well, Viva Glam Gaga 2 is even harder to pull off and is flattering on even less skin tones. While the lipstick maybe growing on me each time I wear it, it is definitely not an easy shade to just slap on and go. Be sure to condition your lips before putting this on. Bottom line? If you are a Gaga fan, this is a must have. If you can live without the limited edition shade, I would use my $14.50 and grab Viva Glam V, a more flattering shade of nude with the proceeds going to the same cause. Did you pick up Viva Glam Gaga 2? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Buzzworthy: Chantecaille Lipgloss in Love

Remember that totally adorable moment during the Golden Globes when the camera caught Angelina Jolie swiping those luscious pillow lips with a lipgloss wand? After inquiring minds HAD to know what lipgloss she used, reps over at Chantecaille confirmed the Brad Pitt's baby mama was using her favorite lipgloss shade in Love. As arguably the most glamorous woman in showbiz, Angelina had Chantecaille's Love flying off the shelf and was notably sold out in several department stores carrying the shade. Luckily for me, the Honey Boyfriend managed to get his hands on one for me as a Valentine's Day present! Retailing at around $30 a tube, this lipgloss is not cheap. The color is a sheer and shiny shade of pink that employs green tea extracts to condition and soften the lips. The pictures of this gloss do it no justice. My lips appeared smooth and plump and in the right lighting glass-like! This is a gorgeous sheer shade that would flatter any lips and the formula kept my lips soft and smooth for hours. And while they may not give an exact replica of that famous Jolie pout, the conditioning formula on top of the great color make this lipgloss a great product. Bottom line? Jolie knows her beauty products, this gloss is amazing!

Buzzworthy: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boy

While the new Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks don't come out until April 2011, our friends at Chanel were kind enough to deliver a special Valentine's day weekend gift in the limited early release of Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boy. Boy will be available from February 10-14 at select makeup counters and online at Chanel.com. The lipstick is famously named after Coco Chanel's former lover, Arthur "Boy" Capel and retails at $32 USD. This lovely lipstick is one part subtle nude, one part shiny pink, and all together romantic. What a perfect date lipstick! The formula is very moisturizing, leaving my lips the most comfortable they've ever been while wearing lipstick. The color is on the more sheer side in comparison to regular Rouge Coco lipsticks and the packaging is slightly skinnier. The wear time for this formula is not amazing, and rubs off easily. Bottom line? If you are willing to shell out the $32, this is a beautiful moisturizing lipstick.

Drugstore Spotlight: L'Oreal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Perpetual Peach

If you're like me, you have probably been spotting the charming Gwen Stefani promote L'Oreal's newest lipstick line, Infallible Le Rouge. The lipstick boasts vivid color alongside a 10 hour wear time and a $10 price tag. I decided to pick up this lipstick in Perpetual Peach and put this 10 hour promise to the test! I applied Perpetual Peach at around 5:00 PM, which went on very pigmented with beautiful color.  After the second hour, the consistency of the lipstick became a bit on the tacky and sticky side, which was not entirely uncomfortable but I could definitely feel the lipstick on my lips. By the third hour, the wear became drying. When 8:30 PM rolled around, I stood in front of the mirror bare-lipped and highly disappointed. So 3 1/2 hours, a bucket of popcorn, a box of Butterfingers, a large Cherry Coke, and a Waldorf salad later I was left chapped and angry. Bottom line? This lipstick is pretty and it stays on as long as you don't eat, drink or kiss. Pictured below is my "infalible" color at 5:00 PM and then what's left of it at 8:30 PM.

Honey B Beauty Classic: MAC's Impassioned

This shade (that has been around for ages) is going down in my books as a beauty classic. Mac's Impassioned lipstick is an amplified shade that is a brilliant watermelon matte pink that has an old school pinup girl feel to it. I happen to love this shade on all skin tones, but looks especially wonderful on skin tones with underlying yellow tones. I love this lipstick, ladies! What is your go-to Beauty Classic pink lipstick? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Buzzworthy: Wonder Woman by MAC

After battling my way through the intense crowd at my local MAC, I made it out alive from the preview party for MAC's newest collection, Wonder Woman! The collection that launches February 10, 2011 is packed in bold limited edition Wonder Woman packaging and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak! The party was very crowded but definitely worth it, as guests were treated to drinks (raspberry mojitos), baked goodies (cupcakes served by, ahem, beefcakes) and most importantly a first look at this fabulous new collection.

I had to swipe up both blushes in Amazon Princess (dark and bold plum tones) and Mighty Aphrodite (a warm peach coral). Both blushes are serious business as they are heavily pigmented and SUPERsized. At .38 oz, I do mean BIG. I also picked up two lipsticks in Marquis D' (a nude gold pink lustre) and Spitfire (a bright magenta satin). Neither of these are colors we haven't seen, but I could not resist myself. I love these colors! Lastly, I picked up a lipglass in Athena's Kiss which is also JUMBO sized (.37 oz vs the regular size of .17 oz). Pictued below are the gorgeous products I picked up as well as the Mineralized Skin Finish in Golden Lariat (too close to MAC's previous MSF Gold Deposit, which I already own) and the blue eyeshadow quad in Lady Justice that my dear sister picked up. I will definitely post a follow up with swatches and looks using these products! What will you be picking up from this Wonder Woman collection? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
